Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences (RAMK) is located in the city of Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle in Lapland Province in Finland. It is the northernmost higher professional education institution in the European Union. RAMK was created in 1996 in conjunction with the establishment of Universities of Applied Sciences in Finland. It has about 3 000 students and a staff of 260 in three campuses.

Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences offers many fields of study. Studies are comprised of theoretical professional studies as well as practical training and bachelor’s theses. Northernness is for us an opportunity to specialize internationally. Our primary mission is to support and steer Lapland’s development and ensure the wellness of the region’s people. We take into consideration demands of the Lappish lifestyle and special needs of business activity in the North in both education and our research and development activities.

Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences provides research, development, education and expert services primarily for the developmental needs of enterprises and communities in the northern regions. The main areas of core competence are business know-how and entrepreneurship, sustainable utilisation of the northern environment, promotion of health and wellness, and information technology. 3. Academic education and international activities
Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences provides education in Business and Administration, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Technology, Forestry and Rural Industries, Health Care and Social Services and Sports and Leisure. There are 14 different degree programmes on bachelor’s level and 4 on master’s level. Degree Programmes in Tourism, Innovative Business Services, Information Technology and one year’s specialisation programme International Project Management are offered entirely in English.
One of our distinctive characteristics is internationality, which includes active student and teacher mobility. RAMK has numerous cooperating partners in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia.
